Musicians are known for pushing the envelope and stretching technology to the limit. One artist really "gets it" and does the best job in the digital space. It’s easy to throw up a tweet, but it’s much harder to make that tweet worth reading. An award for tweeting may seem silly, but it's serious business.

Lady Gaga won the prize for Most Innovative Artist and Must Follow Artist on Twitter, two of the more high-profile categories of the event at MTV inaugural's O Music Awards . Gaga is a finalist in 12 categories wich are: Top Artist, Top Female Artist, Top Touring Artist, Top Social Artist, Top Streaming Artist, Top Digital Media Artist, Top Pop Artist, Top Pop Album, Top Streaming Song (Video), Top Dance/Electronic Artist, Top Dance/Electronic Song (2x), Top Dance/Electronic Album (3x)

Winners were selected via online and social media voting. MTV says more than three million votes were cast through online, social media and mobile platforms.
