Julian Assange Interviewed by Lady Gaga

A video of Lady Gaga talking with Wikileaks founder Julian Assange at the Ecuadorian embassy back in 2012 has seen the light on the internet. The video, which is part of a Laura Poitras' film features Gaga interviewing Assange who, in the context of the film, materializes inside the embassy apropos of seemingly nothing.

Her new film, titled Risk, out Friday in New York, follows Assange as he prepares to barricade himself inside the Ecuadorian Embassy to avoid extradition. She revisits him there periodically over the next five years, where, among other private moments, Poitras captures a bizarre visit from Mother Monster.

Poitras started filming Julian Assange six years ago when the Wikileaks founder was still operating out of a supporter's home in Norfolk, England under house arrest, while he waited to be questioned by Swedish authorities about allegations of rape, molestation, and coercion made against him by two women in Sweden.

Gaga reportedly arrived at the embassy – right across the street from Harrods, where she was promoting her new fragrance "Fame" the first ever Eau de parfum – around 7 p.m. and stayed for several hours, sharing a meal with Assange. It's also possible Gaga's visit was inspired by a tweet from M.I.A., who wrote to pop star, "if ur at Harrods today, come visit Assange at the Ecuador embassy across the st. I'm there. ill bring TEA and CAKE." , (If M.I.A. was present for the meeting, she's not captured on film.)
