Lady Gaga's 'Joanne' is Certified Platinum

We want to congratulate Lady Gaga whose latest album Joanne has been officially certified platinum in the United States by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) just a year after the album was released. The Million Reasons singer and songwriter received the official plaque reflecting 1 million equivalent album units earned.

"Feels good for 'Joanne' to be Platinum in the United States with an album I made so from my heart." she wrote sharing the news with fans on Twitter." I couldn’t be more happy thank you from me and my family to you!."

The album 'Joanne,' which was released in October 2016 and named after Gaga's late aunt, has become the fourth album to obtain a certification, adding to the previous 'The Fame Monster,' 'The Fame' and 'Born This Way' - the latter two achieving multi-platinum categories.  If you didn't know, one album unit is equivalent to 10 tracks sold from an album, one album sale, or 1,500 on-demand audio and/or video streams from an album according to The RIAA.
