Lady Gaga to Sing National Anthem at Biden Inauguration

Lady Gaga has been confirmed to sing the National Anthem for the Biden-Harrys Inauguration event on January 20th at 11:30 am ET. The inaugural committee for the President and Vice President elects confirmed to Variety of Gaga's rendition of the “The Star-Spangled Banner” for the swearing-in ceremony on the West Front of the U.S. Capitol.

Additional artists booked for the event to perform include Jennifer Lopez, Amanda Gorman, the first-ever National Youth Poet Laureate, will recite a poem; Andrea Hall, a firefighter, will sing the Pledge of Allegiance. In addition to the swearing-in ceremony, a virtual parade and other events are scheduled for live streams on Jan. 20.

Biden and Lady Gaga teamed up for a PSA about sexual assault on behalf of Itsonus.org back in October 2017, with Gaga tweeting out a video message from herself and Biden, whom she described as “my buddy.” Biden also tweeted the message, saying at the time, “Honored to work with a woman of great courage, my friend Lady Gaga. With her leadership and your help, we can change the culture.”

Back in 2016, Gaga won praise for her rendition at the opening of the Super Bowl 50, making her performance a must favorite before Whitney Houston's rendition in 1991.
