Lady Gaga's Super Bowl Halftime Show Nominated at Art Directors Guild Awards 2018

Just a year after Lady Gaga's performances at one of the biggest, massive and most-watched televised musical events with nearly 118 viewers across the globe and through all platforms, the stunning Super Bowl LI Halftime Show wat the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas keeps adding recognitions. The show was nominated in the category of Variety or Competition Series/ Award or Event Special at the Art Directors Guild Awards 2018.

Other nominees in the same category include Bill Nye Saves the World: “Earth Is A Hot Mess,” Golden Globe Awards: “74th Annual,” Portlandia: “Portland Secedes,” “Ants,” “Fred`s Cell Phone Company” and Saturday Night Live: “Aziz Ansari + Big Sean,” “Alec Baldwin + Ed Sheeran,” “Larry David + Miley Cyrus.”The 22nd Annual Excellence in Production Design Awards honors the best in theatrical motion pictures, television, commercials, music videos and, for the first time, animation features. The Gala will take place on January 27th, 2018  in the Ray Dolby Ballroom at Hollywood and Highland.

The Art Directors Guild, established in 1937, represents 2,500 members who work throughout the United States, Canada and the rest of the world in film, television and theater as Production Designers, Art Directors, Assistant Art Directors; Scenic, Title and Graphic Artists; Illustrators and Matte Artists; Set Designers, Model Makers and Previs Artists.

Gaga's Super Bowl halftime show broke the record for the most-watched musical performance ever (across all platforms), including but not limited to NFL.com, Twitter, YouTube, and Giphy. Through these channels, the show reached at least 150 million unique people, garnering more than 80 million views and totaling 260 million minutes watched. The NFL also pointed out, “If Lady Gaga’s performance was its own NFL week on YouTube, it would be the fifth highest-watched-week of all-time.”
